TOPIC: Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). Physician-assisted suicide/death has a long and controversial history in other parts of the world. While this is interesting, your paper should only explore the history of the introduction of MAID in Canada, what it looks like today in terms of the who is eligible to receive it and what the procedure involves, arguments that have been presented in favour and against, recent controversies over proposed changes to MAID that would include deaths that are not imminently foreseeable, as well as the inclusion of mental illness as a sole reason to request MAID. Finally, your paper should include a section on how MAID impacts loved ones left behind with respecting to their own grieving process.
