Consumer Behavior: The Decision-Making Process
Using the product you selected in Assignment #1, write about the following five points in a narrative format.
1. Describe how you first learned out about this product. Did you use both internal
and external information? Include a visual showing the product, preferably an ad.
2. Describe the actions you took at each stage of the Consumer Decision-Making
Process. Did you skip, reverse or repeat any of the steps? If so, which ones?

3. Which stage do you think is the most important to marketers? Does it depend on
the type of product that is being marketed?
4. Which of the Situational Influences described in this chapter influenced your
buying decisions most? Explain your answer.
5. Describe your Post-Purchase Evaluation. Did you experience cognitive dissonance or buyer’s remorse? Did you or have you recommended this product to someone else? Do you feel this product delivers the value the marketing promised? Explain your
thoughts.
