In the search box, type “unemployment rate”.
In the search results, under Tables, select “Employment Status”.
The Survey/Program is American Community Survey (ACS).
The Survey ID is S2301.
Select the dropdown arrow below EMPLOYMENT STATUS and select “2020: ACS 5-Year Estimates Subject Tables” if it is not selected already.
Scroll to the right, and view the data under “Unemployment Rate”. The results show unemployment rates for the United States. Note: While not required for this assignment, feel free to explore other geographic locations, like California and/or San Diego County.
Next, address each of the following questions.

According to the ACS 5-year estimates, state the national unemployment rate for Population 16 years and over.

Scroll down the list. In terms of Age, describe which groups tend to live above/below the national average unemployment rate.
In terms of Race and Hispanic or Latino Origin, describe which groups tend to live above/below the national average unemployment rate.
For Population 20 to 64 years of age, state the national unemployment rate.

How do the Male and Female unemployment rates compare to the national rate in this population age range? Which Female categories tend to live above/below the national average for this population age range?
In terms of Poverty Status in the Past 12-Months, how do the unemployment rates compare to the national average for this population age range?
In terms of Disability Status, how does the unemployment rate compare to the national average for this population age range?
Under Educational Attainment, state the national unemployment rate for Population 25 to 64 years of age.

Describe how each educational attainment category compares to the national average unemployment rate for this age range.
Lastly, address each of the following academic writing prompts.

Briefly, note or summarize your findings from the data collection.
Critically assess your results by explaining these findings from an intersectional framework. Define and explain intersectionality by citing relevant material from the readings and lectures. Then, if you had to create a profile based on your findings, generally, who would have the most, or least, trouble finding a job based on the markers of identity you assessed in the data? From an interactionists perspective, if we only stated the national unemployment rate as a measure of social well-being, why is it important to dig deeper into the data from an intersectional framework?
In Chapter 3 of your textbook, describe the studies that might explain some of reasons for the findings above.
