Watch: Brokeback Mountain 2005, directed by Ang Lee.
Question: Focus on Ang Lee’s cinematic technique in bringing the world of Ennis and Jack to life on screen.
Reminder: One of the easiest ways to deal with the film or literature analysis is to choose a scene that you
think is particularly effective and to explain in detail what techniques the film maker or author
has used to make the scene work (lighting, pacing, sound, camera angles and framing, for
example, in the case of film). Adopt a scholarly distance from the material you are writing about.
Strive to avoid mere summary. Your task is to illuminate the techniques the writer/director is
employing in the construction of various parts of the work.
