the Life Course Perspective – provided as a pdf file. Pick 1 of the 2 questions to answer (adapted from page 37). Be sure to reference the reading in your paper.
1. Discuss the historical, cultural, and political influence which has shaped your current life trajectory. Keep in mind, events that occur before your birth, affect your family of origin and thus trickle down to you (i.e. immigration, laws, etc.).
2. Think of an older person (50 or older) whom you think of as resilient, someone who has been successful against the odds. This may be a friend, coworker, or family member. Ask them to what they owe their success. How do their life journeys compare with the common risk and protective factors summarized in Exhibit 1.7? You cannot use yourself. And you need to talk to the person and ask them these questions.
For the best grade, I am looking for you to 1) incorporate the life course perspective reading (three concepts, this could include definitions, explanations of concepts).
2) Provide an analysis of the life course perspective.
