1. Watch the video lecture by Dr. Deborah Tannen called That is not what I meant!
2. Make notes of the main points of her lecture as you watch it.
Submit a reaction paper addressing these questions:
* What does she mean by “conversational style”?
* What is the concept of “framing/re-framing” in conversation styles?
* What does she have to say about power and hierarchy in conversation?
* What is the concept of “pacing and pausing” in conversation?
* Describe something that might have surprised you in Dr.
Tannen’s lecture about conversation styles (there is no right or wrong in this part of the reaction paper).
