The health of the nation and world has the potential to be threatened on many accounts. Examples include natural disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, tornado’s, floods, wild fires), pandemic outbreaks (swine and avian flu, MRSA, AIDS/HIV, Covid-19) and domestic and foreign violence (bio terrorism, mass casualties, war, school violence). People must be protected, and when a disaster/ emergency strikes, be adequately prepared. As a health care provider, others will rely on you for accurate and up-to-date information. Select a real life potential threat to the health of our nation. Answer the follow questions. 1) Give a brief overview / summary of the threat you have selected and why. 2) Outline how the United States and your community is prepared or not prepared if the threat/ disaster should happen. 3) Share AT LEAST 2 online resources of information for preparedness for both the lay individual and for a health care provider such as an advanced practice nurse. 4) Summarize how an individual can prepare for this threat/ disaster
