in the reading for today, “Scientific Looking, Looking at Science,” Sturken and Cartwright ask, “How have science and medicine been informed by classifications of difference and dominant ideas about what constitutes health and the normal and pathological body and mind?” (pg. 340).
Bringing in concepts from their chapter and topics we discussed in lecture, how would you answer Sturken and Cartwright’s question? Why is scientific visualities important for thinking about the relationship between humans, animals, and machines (ie. why is this week part of the course)?
