Scholarly Research Paper: The story of Early Childhood Education
This assignment is meant for you to think critically about early childhood education currently and the influence history has had. You may choose a historical figure to research, or select a program type to describe and investigate, or
take one of the topics listed below,
Why are the majority of early childhood educators women, and how has history influenced this?
Which cultures have had the biggest influence on childcare in the US and why?
Historically, how have the various social classes in the United States had different levels of care for children?
Explore the connection between politics in history and the various childcare initiatives.
Once you have chosen your topic, you will need to do some research on the issue, and then write up a 3- page paper, with a 4th page your bibliography.
Structure your paper with an intro explaining why you chose this topic, a body with information/evidence, and a conclusion that includes how this problem persists or influences education today.
