Point: has no length, breadth or depth (ex: two ends of a line)
Plane: the path of a line in motion (defines volume)
Line: the path of a moving point or point in motion
Volume: (mass, form) the path of a plane in motion
Shape: a flat area that has dimensions of width and length but not depth
Color: light waves reflected by objects (contains hue, value, and intensity)
Value: degree of lightness or darkness
Texture: the structure of the surface of materials, thing, or a work of art
Space: the area between objects; the volume of a mass (negative or positive space or figure ground)

(ex: common direction or shape, or similar color)
Balance: equilibrium between different and at times opposing elements
(Ex: small group of shapes can balance one large shape)
Rhythm: alternating or accelerating movement that causes the eye to move over the surface of the design
Tone: a visual sensation having value and/or hue and saturation
Saturation: (intensity) the relative degree of purity or strength a hue possesses
