The global supply chain seeks to explore the opportunities that exist in international operations. China has become one of the low-cost producers with 50,000 suppliers. There are many challenges that exist in the global supply chain with tariffs and security concerns. Outsourcing has been a common occurrence but many manufacturers have started to realize the benefits of keeping manufacturing operations in the U.S. This will be discussed in your chapter reading.
