Throughout this course, you have addressed different aspects of a management information system. Using the research, you have gathered and shared on the Discussion Board and lab activites, create a management information system plan that emphasizes the interpretation of significant components of information systems in modern business enterprises.
Identify a small company, either real or fictional, and describe the type of business it does. Assuming the company is brand new and just opening for business, create a management information system plan that emphasizes the interpretation of significant components of information systems in modern business enterprises. Describe what components the company will need and how these components will be used.
You may submit the Portfolio Project in either of these two formats:
Option 1: Written paper – The Project will be graded based on the content and how you present it. The topic of the project must be answered fully, well-written, well-constructed, fluent, and effective. Points will be deducted for grammar and spelling errors.
Project Format:
Use Microsoft Word
Title page: title, your name, course and code, instructor’s name, and the date
Content: Four or more pages of written content in the typical essay style with topic sentences, supporting details, and examples. Pictures/graphs may be used but will not count toward the page limit.
Style/Format: 12 pt. font size, and double-spaced
References/Works Cited: Standard MLA or APA style, minimum of three references
Hint:
Think of putting together an MIS plan for a business. You may pick a specific business or makeup one. For example, how would you determine the business’s hardware and software needs, and how would you fill that needs? Consider storage as well. How would you store your data? Hard drives or cloud? Think about security as well. Who would have access to the data, and who are those particular people? Use the discussion postings and lab activities as a resource and convert them into a plan for an existing company, fictitious company, or more of a generalized business.
