1. Research a completed official NTSB accident file with the probable cause determined. Look under the link Links to an external site.. Researching an aircraft accident that happened on your birthday is an excellent place to start! For specific entries, you can enter, such as aircraft type and location of the accident, see Links to an external site.
2. Find an accident that appeals to your research standards.
Once you have found a suitable safety report, write a summary of what you thought of this report. This report is your opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Three complete paragraphs, minimum of 200 words, will be fine for this discussion. (See grading rubric below.) Cite the source file using APA formatting if you cite yourself (instead of outside references); use, for example, Smith, J. (2022) Personal opinion. You can also use personal experience or observation.
3. Please ensure you attach the actual NTSB report as a separate file.
