-You are a social worker in a private, nonprofit agency that serves immigrants, primarily migrant workers and their families. The agency includes two social workers, the director, and a retired attorney who helps with referrals to lawyers who can provide pro bono legal services. The social workers link immigrants to various social, economic, and health resources within the border community.
– Coordination between these various resources (some of which overlap) is limited and creates challenges in providing the most efficient and timely assistance to immigrants. To address these issues, your agency has asked you to organize a task group made up of representatives from different local organizations that provide health and social services to immigrants (three food banks, a federally qualified health center, volunteer interpreters, educational assistance, housing assistance, an employment agency, and churches that provide financial assistance).
– Post your understanding of the different types of task groups social workers may facilitate.
