As stated in the directions, you will be given three questions and must answer *one* of them. While you can see the directions immediately below, the questions will not be available until the exam officially opens.
Once the exam officially opens, you will be able to compose and revise an essay to turn in through the submission link.
-The Murphy and Thorkelson Final Exam Readings
For the final essay, you will be asked to read three questions carefully and then choose only ONE question to answer. You will then write a thesis-centered essay of at least 500 words in response to this one question using direct quotations from both “How Camera Phones Stunt Bravery And Short Circuit Human Decency” by Erika Thorkelson and “We’re All Socially Awkward Now” by Kate Murphy to support your writing.
Develop a thesis that takes a clear stance or position in response to one of the questions.
Organize your thoughts — an outline can help do this.
Use MLA in-text citation to support your claim with quotes or paraphrases from BOTH the Murphy and the Thorkelson readings. (You must use at least one cited idea from each reading).
Discuss how the citations and ideas are relevant to your thesis.
While you can also use your own observations and experiences to develop your claims,
the Thorkelson and the Murphy readings must be the primary source for development.
