For the project component of the course you will be required to do the following:
Collect a data set of size at least 30 from some population with an estimate that you can look up for a mean or a proportion.
Find the relevant statistics for your sample (mean, standard deviation for a numerical data set, sample proportion for a non-numerical data set)
Find a 95% confidence interval for your measure. Verify the assumptions first.
Look up an established value for your measure (population mean or population proportion) and perform a hypothesis test to determine if your results show a significant difference from the established value.
Write up your results, and draw conclusions about your sample and the population.
You should use software such as statcrunch, or minitab to do your calculations, and include the files/screenshots with your report.
