A film review on the 2004 movie “Control Room” needs to be written. A sample film review is attatched below, for reference. It needs to be between 1000-1500 words. Here are the instructions:
“The review should focus not on the film as art, but as a medium for representing history — and, in some cases, trying to change history. Your review should include an analysis of how the film relates to the historical record, and how the filmmakers might have used artistic license in changing the chronology and/or characters. You should also discuss the context in which the film was produced, and the reception from both audiences and critics.
As you watch the movie, you may want to keep the following questions in mind: What does the film tell you about the relationship between media, the public, and the state in times of war? What is the relationship between al-Jazeera and the wider Arab World? How does
the film help you understand the global responses to the American invasion of Iraq? Based on the documentary, how was the Iraq War similar or different as a global conflict than the Vietnam War?”
