“How do you watch a group in action and figure out exactly what is happening that is increasing or decreasing the group’s effectiveness? This is the central question for diagnosing groups. After you figure out what’s happening, what do you say to help the group become more effective? This is the central question for intervening with groups.” The basis of this paper is to discuss different methods one might take to diagnose why a group is behaving the way it is, as well as intervening in the group to make it more effective. The purposes of this class relate to facilitation and consultation in terms of training and development in the workplace. It should be looked at from the business perspective.
The following prompts should be answered in the paper:
– Introduce the topic you have chosen and why this topic is important to facilitation or consultation
– Discuss the topic itself and how it is relevant to facilitation or consultation and its application within the workplace
– Describe what the topic is in detail to give the reader a solid foundation and understanding
-Analyze the current state of this topic at the present time: in other words, what your chosen topic looks like today, as opposed to what it looked like 10 or 20 years ago. Perhaps you may want to discuss the evolution of your topic in recent decades. You may want to discuss what has been discovered about this topic over the years or what it looks like now. You have some creative leeway here to discuss the current state.
