Select an organisation appropriate to your sector/degree
The objective of the report is to consider and evaluate the organisations current approach to sustainability and to make reccommendations to improve the organisation’s sustainability practices, in line with a globally responsible business approach.
In the report you should discuss:
The benefits of being part of the UNGC (considering potential risks) if your chosen organsation is not currently part of the UNGC or suggest continued benefits if they are
Changes the organisation needs to implement to support The UNGC principles. In this section you should:
Show awareness of the organisations practices.
Show awareness of and discuss the UNGC ‘environment’ area and its principles. (https://www.unglobalcompact.org/what-is-gc/our-work/environment)
Show awareness of the three remaining UNGC areas (Human rights, labour and anti-corruption
Analyse and consider other relevant UN reports and documentation relevant to this area to further support and underpin your comments, claims and recommendations (some are available but this list is not exhaustive) go to: for further information
Analyse and underpin your work with appropriate theories and theoretical concepts as discussed in the module content
Investigate your potential organisation of choice, consider if the organisation has:
A strategic plan
A sustainability plan
Annual reports
If they are part of the UNGC or not (check!)
Any ‘stories’ in the public domain (for context)
In addition to appropriate academic, policy, strategy sources

Layout and Presentation
The following information indicates what might be an appropriate layout and format for your report.
Title page – actual title, course, date, author, assessor etc.
Table of contents – chapter/section no., title, page no.
Glossary of terms – abbreviations and jargon/technical words
Summary – a quick, succinct couple of paragraphs as a résumé of the report
Introduction – what, why, where, how, when, who?
Main report – the body of evidence
Conclusions – how the aims/objectives of the report have been addressed
Recommendations – what should be done next, what was missed
References and Bibliography – where the information came from
Appendices – tables, figures and supporting articles etc.
