INTRODUCTION:
Last week, we were asked to work with a peer to complete the MBTI Partner Project for the Emotional Intelligence class. I was supposed to find a peer partner who preferably has an MBTI profile drastically different from mine, ENTJ. Drastically different is defined as having at least three (or two if three are nowhere to be found) opposite preferences.
I partnered with two peers taking the same EL course with INFJ profiles. Both INFJs and ENTJs have Intuitive, Judging personalities, which means they are creative and structured in general; however, INFJs are also introverted and empathic, while ENTJs like to express themselves rationally and spend time among people. I also partner with a friend with the exact opposite personality type as mine, i.e., ISFP. The purpose of this activity is to learn how I can work with different personality types.
We started the MBTI Partner Project by asking the partner the following questions:
• What is a positive attitude? To what extent do you have it? If you have a positive attitude, what actions might you display? How do you communicate it? What does a positive attitude “look” like to others? How do we differ in expressing our respective positive attitudes? How are we the same in expressing positivity?
• What is a negative attitude? If you have a negative attitude, what actions might you display?
• How does your communication look like? What does a negative attitude “look” like to others? How would you teach others to be more enthusiastic and motivated?
• Which exercise from the NVC document would you choose to teach a group of people? Why?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION:
1. The feedback provided to my peer (minimum of 150 words).
2. A descriiption of the exercise I completed with my peer partners.
3. Provides comments on what I learned during the discussion process
Parts 2 and 3 must be a total of 200 words combined.
Paper format:
• Prepare an essay with an introduction, main body, and conclusion citing information from the case as support for the paper’s positions.
• The paper should be in 12-point font, Times New Roman.
• Include bold headers before paragraphs that introduce new topics.
• Include a list of any outside sources used in APA format.
• Please use credible sources, and do not use Wikipedia or Blogs as sources.
ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVES:
This is quite a complicated order. We need to (1) analyze three major leadership tasks: communicating, motivating someone, and providing as well as receiving feedback. (2) Apply MBTI preferences and an orientation to show a good understanding of other people’s differences regarding the three chosen leadership tasks (communication, motivation, and feedback). (3) Provide constructive feedback while practicing leadership skills of empathy and task orientation. And (4) Note my own motivation style through theory and practice.
