This is for an application for a masters degree in Biomedical Engineering.
– Start with personal details like background. For context, I am a 19 year old who came to Canada from a third world country at the age of 15 and completed a Bachelors degree by 18. Create this sort of connection between studying in a third world country and studying in Canada. Basically milk this a much as you can.
– Talk about what prompted your interest in research. This goes back to my first point. Talk about how the classes you took shaped your interest. Also talk about how you undertook several research opportunities with different professors from your 2nd to 4th year and how it shaped your research interests.
Specifically, talk about how your interest in nanotechnology began during the pandemic in your 2nd year.
– Talk about why you are choosing that particular university. (Make it generic since this statement will be used for multiple schools). Sound passionate. Make a mention about a professor (make it generic like Dr. X) you would love to work with who does nanotech research on cancer and how important their work is.
– Talk about future plans once the program is completed. Like working in industry on making nanotech drugs and so on
