My ultimate career goal is to become a well-rounded film producer that could develop and
produce films that could inspire people for good, just as films have inspired me. Furthermore,
from my observation, I realize that there is an absence of Asian American voices in the
mainstream American film industry, and even more so of Asian female voices. Growing up as an
immigrant girl, a person on the margin in this country, I wholeheartedly like what the mainstream
content creators have done in the past, but moving forward, I would definitely advocate for the
voices of the marginalized people whose voices are not heard or ignored. For me, art is a gift for
those are weak and oppressed, because caring for them is what the beauty of humanity is about.
Being a female producer, I would engage myself in raising voices for those whose stories haven’t
been told, and whose images haven’t been seen, and I firmly believe there are deep meanings
and a wide market for these kind of content.
