(C) How does the rejuvenating quality of food show up in Christian ritual? Is that why holidays (holy days) and food are closely associated? If not, why not? If so, why? Does this make Buddhism less rejuvenating? (Make sure you understand the meaning of the word “rejuvenating..:) Why would some religions prescribe fasting, then?
(D) Discuss what he says about marriage and parenting in the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale and whether you see that happening in your own life. Also discuss whether you agree or not and why.
(E) Do you believe you could do as much evil as Unit 731? Haven’t you already hurt so many people in your life, even if it’s only psychic or emotional hurt? (hard to answer because you do not want to “name” the evil in yourself) How have you done this? How have other people done this to you? (not so hard to answer)
(F) Having heard this lecture, what are your thoughts on how brief the story of creation is in the book of Genesis. How does the lecture illustrate “deep thinking?” What deep thinking have you been doing about God or the creation of the universe (and if you haven’t done any, do some now or choose another question)?
