The purpose of this final paper assignment (Synthesis of Literature Review) is to help the student use a systematic approach to analyze published research literature in-depth and draw conclusions concerning the quality of the evidence in the research report. In preparation for this paper, you have selected, reviewed, and studied research articles and have completed the “Evidence Summary Table”and the “Critical Appraisal of Research Evidence.” Synthesize your literature review and upload it into Canvas.
– The purpose of this assignment is for the student to demonstrate that a systematic research
literature review search has been conducted and that the student is capable of writing a clear,
succinct and evidence-based report based on such a review.
– The paper must meet criteria for a professional report of this nature that could be used as a
catalyst to begin a process of change in practice in the setting in which the student currently
works or plans to work following graduation from the master’s program.
– Students summarize the research study and literature articles that have been found, review,
and critique to address gap of knowledge that leads to the significance of the study.
– Describe the main findings for each of the original research studies that represent the “best
evidence” on the topic selected.
