Module 4 Assignment: ZOOM Teaching Session
Due: Tue Nov 22, 2022 11:59pm
Compose a comprehensive teaching review of the class you are teaching using a Powerpoint slide presentation format; present this review using “Zoom”. Your instructor will evaluate your teaching during this session; the student does not need to attach anything to the Assignment link for grading.
You will not need to teach your course live for this assignment; instead you will be reviewing the class with your classmates and your instructor. You will be named as moderator in the “Zoom” room, as well as the instructor. Your classmates who can attend will watch live, along with the instructor. This is a live event so planning ahead, with a PowerPoint slide presentation, or other use of presentation resources (e.g., use of the white board, Word documents), is required. Videos may not play well in Zoom, so plan accordingly.
A schedule will be provided by the instructor; please sign up for the date and time that works best for you.
The teaching session represents your ability to demonstrate your knowledge on the topic of choice, your ability to interact with students from diverse backgrounds, your willingness to engage in discussion, your choice of a variety of activities to engage students in higher level thinking exercises, and your ability to organize the content you present in a well- structured manner. Please include the following in the ZOOM Session (in a slide presentation format):
1. Descriiption of the student demographics (age, diversity, level of course) and type of nursing program (LPN, RN, Nursing Professional Development course), and how that influenced your teaching methodology and strategies.
2. Measurable, specific objectives (with active verb usage).
3. An outline or overview of the course content, activities, and assignments.
4. Major content (Include class/course content here- all or part).
5. Discussion of associated assignments/activities.
6. Results of the student evaluation of your teaching effectiveness, content. and activities/assignments.
7. What you learned and might do differently next time, and what you found effective. (If you have already taught the course.)
Please keep the content at a maximum of 40 minutes, so that classmates and the course instructor can ask questions and provide feedback at the end.
This Assignment relates to Module 4 Objectives: (1) Prepare and conduct the planned class/course to nursing students or in the nursing professional development setting, (2) Administer and interpret the teaching evaluation instrument collected from students, and (3) Conduct a Collaborate Teaching Session for classmate peers, discussing the content of the class/course, with analysis of performance of yourself as instructor and the students’ participation and feedback.
