The evidence for the cartel influence is:
– lobbying/assassinating political officials
– control of avocado and lime farms, as well as a majority of the western countries’ heroin/fentanyl distribution.
– policing street level activity (so as not to interfere with profit)
Solutions:
– ‘Terrorist’ label issued by the United States, make it less appealing for new members to join.
– legalize marijuana across the West to detract from hard drug use
– Introduce alternative trades to drug farmers for financial sustenance
