For the case study report you will need to:
Pick one of the marine environmental issues listed above
Decide whether to use the data on iLearn in your case study report or source some open access data from
the suggested databases/other open access datasets.
Prepare an introduction that describes what is known and not known about the marine environmental
issue that you are focusing on. You should highlight why this environmental issue is particularly important
and describe the contribution your work makes to understanding this issue. Present any relevant
hypotheses.
Describe the methods used to collect the data (either field collections or how you extracted the
information from databases)
Describe the results by presenting the data either in box plots or bar charts to allow for basic data
exploration with e.g. median/min/max or mean and SE. If you have accessed spatial data and would like to
present this on a map then discuss this with the unit convenor.
Discuss your findings in relation to current literature and whether your hypotheses were/werent
supported. Provide some suggestions for actions that an environmental manager could implement to
reduce impacts from this environmental issue
