Caffeine is one of the most commonly used ergogenic nutritional supplementation, and it is generally accepted that caffeine can improve the sport/exercise performance. That being said, it has been also claimed that caffeine could be more beneficial for specific types of exercise/sports (i.e. endurance exercise vs resistance exercise).
