1). Does the translation of children’s poetry differ from the translation of other, “adult” poetry, and if so -how? Respond to this question via an analysis of Becky Crook’s translation of Inger Hagerup’s poem “Min onkel triller piller” as “My Uncle Fills Pills”.
The essay should contain both a close comparison of the original and the translation, and a principled discussion of the question given above. Reference may or may not be made to Paul René Gauguin’s illustration of the poem, but it should not in any case be given more focus than the two texts. (The poem and its translation are reprinted below.)

2). Write a two-part essay on Emily Dickinson’s “’The Things that never can come back are several –‘“. After your introduction, devote the first section of your essay to a selective analysis of the poem, where you pinpoint key features. The second section of your essay should subsequently consist of a comparison of the translations of this poem made by Tone Hødnebø and Kurt Narvesen, respectively. You should treat the latter two texts primarily as translations, rather than as poems in their own right. The second section should be considerably longer than the first section. (The poem and its translations are reprinted below.)
