Each student is required to choose one article from a newspaper, magazine, or Internet site written since August 1st of this year regarding an economic good bought and sold in our economy. He or she will then write a one-page essay on the article and draw a graph depicting the situation. The assignments must be typed and double-spaced. The first paragraph of the assignment should summarize the contents of the article in your own words. I am not looking for you to simply repeat several key phrases. In a subsequent paragraph or paragraphs, each student should discuss how the article relates to supply and/or demand. The words “supply” and “demand” do not have to be in the article for you to relate it to supply or demand. You will also create and include one graph depicting both a supply curve, a demand curve, an indication of how one or both of these curves changed, and how this change impacted the equilibrium price and quantity.
