You will locate two sources that relate to your proposed final project topic.
• Intro: Describe your research topic, and what you plan to investigate, and provide a tentative thesis
statement if you have it. Guiding questions: What are you looking into? What do you hope to
find? How does this relate to one of the LAST100 readings/topics?
• Write-up up two sources. One source must be a peer-reviewed academic article or book chapter.
The second source may be one of the following options:
o another peer-reviewed article/chapter
o one non-peer-reviewed or short piece (e.g., newspaper article, encyclopedia article).
o primary source relevant to the topic
• Formatting and submission guidelines:
o Length: 2-3 pages TOTAL + separate bibliography in MLA style
o Heading: Name, LAST100, Date, Proposed* project topic
o Title (descriptive, succinct, thoughtful)
o Include your surname, and page numbers at the top right of each page
o Double-spaced text, Times New Roman, 12-point font, 2.54-cm / 1-inch margins
o Carefully review essay evaluation criteria/rubric below.
o Paper and citations in MLA formatting.
o When available, include links to sources with bibliographic entries.
Your SRWA will include an introduction (what your topic is, initial thesis statement, a brief reference to the
two sources), followed by a write-up (1-2 paragraphs) of each source in which you summarize and analyze
the two pieces’ contributions and note how each source will be used in your final project.
