After reading their case study of choice, students will
write a concise response summarizing the key points, and detailing how what you have learned
through our course could be applied to the situation described in the case study.
The response paper should include the following sections, each of which should begin with the
same heading described here:
1-Summary of Key Concepts
In this section, briefly summarize the relevant information from the case study (e.g., goals,
challenges of the organization) and the relevant course concepts (e.g., sectoral differences,
planning, public relations). You must explicitly refer to at least two course concepts in this
section.
2-Analysis
In this section, describe your analysis of the issue at hand, and how the chosen course concepts
apply to the scenario. In this section, it is important to present valid arguments and relevant detail
to support your arguments.
3-Recommendations
In this section, briefly state explain your recommendations for what the professionals should do
to address the challenge or situation. Your recommendations should follow logically from the
previous section, and include relevant details on points such as who will implement them, how
they should be implemented, and why you believe they are appropriate.
Because managers must be able to write concisely, assignments should be between 600 and
750 words (title page and references not included). If writing concisely is difficult for you, think
of this as an opportunity to develop an important skill. One suggestion is to write the paper as
you normally would and then go back through it thoroughly editing and re-writing for brevity.
Assignments should follow APA format using Times New Roman 12 pt. font.
All written assignments should include a title page and reference page according to APA format.
Include a word count (excluding title page and references) on the title page.
