Compare the heroes of the Iliad to that the heroes of another work of literature/film. (Harry Potter, or any film/literature that has heroes in it)
Write a short (1500 words) essay comparing several heroes and answer the questions below.
-How has the concept of a hero changed over time?
-What makes a hero in the Iliad? Which characters are more heroic and how is this shown?
This should be written in a formal, scholarly style. All essays should have the following:
1. Title page (with the title of the essay, your name, the course title, date)
2. Introduction (a paragraph in which you briefly characterize the heroes and clearly state your thesis)
3. Body (several well-organized paragraphs in which you systematically defend your thesis by adducing supporting evidence and drawing upon previous scholarship)
4. Conclusion (a final paragraph in which you pull together the important points of your argument)
5. Works Cited page (an alphabetized list of the all works cited in the paper)
