2-3 full pages, typed, double spaced, 12-point, Times New Roman
Proper heading
Underline thesis
Watch pronoun agreement and verb tense consistency
Use specific and appropriate examples
Do not use taboos: good, bad, thing, stuff, etc., parentheses
Remember to use transitions
Choose one of the following topics:
How do ads affect our lives? What does the advertising world try to do to our lives to shape us? Prove your point through specific examples of these effects.
Identify the different effects of technology usage in our lives. Explain how technology changes us, whether for better for worse. Give specific details, descriptions, and examples, but remember to keep a consistent tone.
Why do Americans, in general, live beyond their economic means? Think about the factors that cause people to spend more than they have, exhaust credit, and live in enormous amounts of debt.
Prewriting evidence plus a five-paragraph first draft essay is due and should be sent in an email as a Word doc attachment; the final draft will be through the Cause/Effect section portal. Both of these due dates will be posted in Announcements.
