(This is NOT included in the word count) Executive Summary (10 marks) Start the Executive Summary on a new page. Summary should be on a separate and individual page (half to one page Maximum) Must contain the following key elements 1. What the report is evaluating. Be very specific and mention the name of your organisation. 2. The method of analysis used (ie. state the type of sources (research data, system thinking, quality frameworks, etc.) that were used in compiling your report and conducting your analysis. 3. List the key findings of your analysis (must be succinct and to the point) 4. List key recommendations (must be succinct and written in dot point) The Executive Summary must be written in short concise statement with each statement separated by line spacing. Concise Overview of the service and the main findings from Assessment 2 Discuss the service that you selected and where it sits in the Australian Healthcare system. The service will be part of an organisation. State the service and name of the organisation. Is it a large, small or medium organisation, for example, etc. State what you observed or learned from your analysis in Assessment 2. What were your conclusions in Assessment 2. You can include here a mind map if it supports your discussion. Analysis of how well your chosen service (organisation) is meeting the challenges posed by the ageing population, in particular, in terms of achieving and maintaining quality service provisions standards with a particular focus on the ageing population. Best to identify some specific examples and discuss (15 marks) You will need to research these standards (list provided below) in order to gain a solid understanding of what they aim to achieve, and then apply these aims to your chosen service/organisation. How is your service prepared to meet the challenges? Are they currently meeting them? A good place to start is to find out what standards your selected organisation is using (either from their website or annual reports). Consider the interconnectedness (links) between the organisation and the broader system of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) for health practitioners maintained by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and other professionals who self-regulate under the banner of the National Alliance of Self-Regulating Health Professions (NASRHP) Responsiveness to the ageing population and gaps and opportunities for improvement? (5 marks) How is your organisation responding to the needs of the ageing population and are there any gaps in service delivery? What are the opportunities or areas that need improvement. This requires critical and detailed analysis. Examination of ethical issues and considerations in relation to the service delivery in the context of the ageing population (30 marks) What are the ethical issues that must be considered during the delivery of the service. Use systems thinking to identify points where ethical issues must be of consideration. These can be anywhere in the system that is connected to the patient and the organisation. A good place to start is to review the Code of ethics for your selected profession or specialist service 1. Consider ethical concepts and theories discussed in Workshop 9 2. If there are gaps, are there any ethical issues that relate to these gaps? 3. If there are opportunities are there any ethical issues in not taking up these opportunities or in the implementation of these opportunities. For example, the implementation of e-health. You must identify and examine at least three Key areas where ethical considerations in relation to the delivery of the service and decision making. For example, informed consent before providing a blood sample for analysis, etc. Please note: This section is worth 30 marks and will require a reasonable amount of effort on your part. Recommendation for future action (10 marks) What recommendation do you make for the organisation to make in relation to the delivery of its service to enhance the quality and safety of care in the context of the ageing population?
