For the Unit 3 Discussion, please read the essay on the “Revolutionary War in Georgia” in the New Georgia Encyclopedia. Also you should have read The American Revolution (Chapter 5)
The historical actors you have been assigned is Stephen Heard, in many ways, representative of the diverse experiences of those living in Georgia during the American Revolution. Your initial post should include four (4) paragraphs:
– One (1) that briefly introduces your historical actor.
-A second one (1) that explains their role in the American Revolution in Georgia.
-A third one (1) that situates their role in a broader national context.
– A final one (1) that explains the case they would have made for the position they took on the Revolution.
When thinking through your responses, be sure to ask the following questions:
What is your historical figure’s social background?
Where and when was my historical figure born?
What side did my historical figure take in the American Revolution? Why?
Was the experience of my historical figure unique to Georgia? Or would there have been similar people elsewhere? And if so, where?
How would my historical figure respond if their political motives were questioned?
