What is a criminologist issue that is affecting the state of Ohio right now? For example, gang violence, juvenile delinquency, drugs, law officer misconduct.
Search for anecdotal information about your paper topic. In this case, you are introducing the topic (criminologist issue) of your paper by discussing timely news stories about it. The news stories do not have to cover the topic comprehensively. They can serve as examples of the themes that you will address in your paper.
Search the newspaper to find articles about the issue affecting Ohio. As a last resort, use news stories drawn from alternative weekly periodicals. You are also welcome to consult magazine and social media content, provided that it is news-related.
Also look for news stories in your local African American newspaper. You can identify this publication by searching the National Newspaper Publishers Association website:
