Legal Issues Paper: Students will conduct research of current, credible sources other than the
class textbook to develop a paper containing analysis of a law or legal issue for a specific type of HRT
organization. Students can research one specific law or section of a law, an agency charged with
enforcement of a law, or a legal issue (contracts; employment practices like hiring, disciplinary
action or termination; workplace security, safety practices; etc.) The work should demonstrate an
understanding of how risk and legal issues can be addressed effectively in one specific HRT setting,
the impact of the issue, and actions an agency should take to comply with legal requirements
