Learning Objectives:
By the end of class, the students will:
1.consider how historical incidences of unethical treatment of research subjects has informed the ethical conduct of nursing and biomedical research (CSLO 2);
2.evaluate the significance of the Nuremberg Code and the Declaration of Helsinki (CSLO 2);
3.defend the human rights that require protection in research(CSLO 2) ;
4.integrate the informed consent process with IRB review (CSLO 2); and
5.evaluate research misconduct (CSLO 2).
