Chapters 6-11 of the textbook deal with the “nuts and bolts” of political attitudes, how they are formed and why we do or do not participate in the electoral process. Thinking about your own political socialization, that is how your attitudes about politics were/are formed, what is the most important aspect of that socialization process? Does socialization affect partisan identification? How has political socialization affected your participation in the democratic process? Do you consider yourself involved and aware? If so, how? If not, what do you think will change to make you more involved?
