Forum discussing Bayesian statistics. Specifically, focus on null hypothesis significance testing (NHST) and how it contrasts with Bayesian alternatives. (Notes: NHST is the standard method that we’ve been learning for this course).
Like with bootstrapping, this is a fairly advanced topic. That’s why we’re grading you on the effort you put into your discussion rather than on your demonstrated understanding of the topic. All students are required to read up (or watch videos on) NHST versus Bayesian statistics OR reply to another students post. It’s okay if you don’t completely understand the debate. Just give your honest, best effort. It’s important that you TRY to get it and/or help other students try to get it. You can use any source you want, so long as you post links so we can check them out too.
I’ll tell you right now, It’s very tough to find decent introductory Bayesian vs. NHST stuff on the internet. Here’s the best I could find (These [or a subset of these] could be the only sources you look at, if that suits you):

If you need ideas for things to post:
· What are some pros and cons of NHST and Bayesian techniques (e.g., bayes factors)?
· Are you worried now about NHST compared to before you started researching for this discussion forum?
· State what you understand so far but ask some lingering questions that you didn’t see addressed in any of your readings.
