The introduction to the study is just as it sounds. It is the opening discussion of the problem statement, the purpose of the study, and the significance of the study. It can cover the history of the problem, issue, concern, or exploration of the phenomena. The rationale is to orient the reader and bring them up to speed on the topic itself. The introduction to the study is usually about 23 pages in length and includes sections titled:

Summary
The topic is below:
In America, television used to broadcast on a schedule, which resulted in us all watching simultaneously. The next day we would share the show’s content, the vocabulary, music, and fashions. Now with streaming, we watch shows as we find them. I want to know what happens to the shared culture we use to pass on to one another. With linear television schedules, show advertisements start months or weeks in advance. With streaming content in America, unless it is a returning show or colossal production, they are often not advertised until release. How is the general population finding the shows? Do they rely on recommendations through family and friends, social media, and marketing on web pages? Are they streaming content on their phones, at home, or on the go? After they stream content from OTT Networks such as Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime, how are they sharing the content with others? Are they telling friends and family and sharing on social media? The purpose of the study is to examine how people are streaming content. How are we sharing it, and where?
Purpose
The proposed study follows a qualitative research approach using semi-structured interviews as the primary method. This study aims to understand how people watch video content on OTT networks, what content they usually watch, where they are watching it, and ultimately how they share that content with society. This study will use a framework and perspectives from the participants to view these users’ video streaming routines. The goal is to find participants subscribed to one or more video streaming services.
Research Question
How have Over-the-top (OTT) Networks and video streaming changed the way we experience television, and what does it mean for our shared cultural memory?
