After you have read and studied Chapter 20 in our textbook, write a 500-word extended definition of ONE of the following terms:
just intonation (in music)
connectomics
Creuzfeldt Jakob disease
hypnagogia
Extended definitions are described and explained on pages 540-546 in our textbook.
Include one graphic, properly captioned. Check that the graphic you use is appropriate for your audience and purpose.
Assume that your audience is not familiar with the term that you are defining.
In addition to the graphic, use at least three of the following techniques (described on pages 542-545) to make your extended definition:

Principle of operation
Partition
Comparison and contrast
Analogy
Negation
Etymology
Use at least three and not more than five credible outside sources. At least two of your sources should come from the Santa Fe Librarys databases. Search in JSTOR and Academic Search Complete. Do not use Wikipedia as a source.
Introduce each source in your text with a signal phrase. Provide in-text citations and a Works Cited page in MLA style (see pages 647-663 in the textbook). Failure to document your sources correctly will result in a failing grade for this assignment.
The graphic must be mentioned in the text. Include a figure number, caption, and source. See the Guidelines on pages 295-296 in the textbook.
