Both are different in their nature, but you will notice that both are in the context of a Psychotherapy session. Even though some of you have no interest in providing Psychotherapy, being therapeutic in our communication is often in the nature of what we do as Social Workers. Psychotherapy videos are great study guides that teach us how to interact with our clients, gather more information, and appropriately challenge clients when necessary. After watching these 2 videos, please write a 3-5 page paper (title and reference page not necessary), comparing and contrasting the different techniques and approaches you notice in the videos. For each video, also write a brief and concise case note summary of the session that you just watched, as if you were putting it into a patients chart. How would you take notes? Please be sure to be concise and direct in your note writing. Also, Please notate anything you would like to add to the questioning if you were the Social Worker in the video. Finally, take note of what you found as positives and negatives, take particular interest into areas that made you uncomfortable.
