THIS IS THE TOPIC
Examine the administration of the courts when addressing sentencing alternatives for my research paper. I do find it interesting what sentences people get for what crimes and if alternatives are effective. As judges are elected officials, in a sense the voters are advocating what type of sentences they would like to be imposed.
Choose a topic of interest to you that relates specifically to this course. I recommend selecting a topic that you have limited knowledge about, but you are nonetheless interested in learning more about that topic. Your topic must be approved in advance with a brief explanation as to why you chose the topic, along with your plan of what you intend to learn from your research, by the end of week 2. Submission of a paper on a topic that was not approved in advance by your instructor may result in a failing grade.
