After reading Price & Nelson (2019), Planning Effective Instruction, Chapter 2 and viewing the Watch: Taxonomies and Objectives item, complete the following:Access the Virginia Standards of Learning

Choose a grade level for your chosen content. On the row for your chosen grade level, open the following two items: Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework. Spend time reading and exploring these documents. Notice that the Standards provides a framework and that the Curriculum Framework provides thorough detail about how each standard can be addressed.
Based on your review of the Standards and Curriculum Framework for your chosen content area and grade level, address each of the following in your thread:

Discuss the Standards that you reviewed. What did you notice? What stood out? How can you connect what you saw in the Standards to the Chapter 2 reading and/or the Taxonomies & Objectives presentation? Be specific and descriptive.
Discuss the Curriculum Framework that you reviewed. What did you notice? What stood out? How can you connect what you saw in the Curriculum Framework to the Chapter 2 reading and/or the Taxonomies & Objectives presentation? Be specific and descriptive.
Write a sample objective statement based on a specific standard from what you reviewed. Be sure your sample objective includes the three required components discussed in the Taxonomies & Objectives presentation. Here is an example sample objective based on History & Social Science Standard, 2ndGrade, Standard 2.6a: Given a blank map, the student will label the continents with 7/7 labeled correctly. Important Note: You will NOT be graded on whether your objective is correctly written. The goal is that you are practicing an important skill.
