Provide substantive response to 1) and 2)
1)Discuss the purpose of pursuing licensure as a Professional Counselor.
The main purpose of pursuing licensure as an LPC is to be able to provide direct clinical services to clients. You need your license to be able to practice counseling in a safe, well trained/prepared way. It is important to gain licensure to be able to practice without breaking the law. In order to be a well established LPC you must follow rules and regulations of the ACA and that is being licensed in order to ensure you are providing the best services you can to clients.
2) Discuss your reasons for why you will or will not pursue licensure.
My main purpose of pursing my LPC is the reasons listed above. I want to make sure I am compliant with rules and regulations as well as be properly trained to serve the clients I will be serving. Overall, I chose to pursue my LPC to be able to be in the working help profession. As a young child I always knew I was put on this earth to be able to assist and help others, I have a real humanitarian nature. I know my life’s purpose was to be a healer and a helper. It wasn’t until recent that I have seen that this would bee through therapy/counseling.
