Instructions:
In this short scholarly paper, you will briefly describe the complexity of your organizational system. You will reflect on system-level precepts purporting to guide system-level decisions. You will identify an inconsistency, conflict, or issue that negatively impacts the system-experience and demonstrate knowledge needed to orchestrate positive change.
You will search the scholarly literature to identify an evidence-based strategy that could be used to address the organizational issue. You will demonstrate your ability to use Kotter’s 8-step change approach to incorporate the EB strategy to facilitate positive system-level outcomes. In so doing, you will incorporate a participatory approach in leading the change process. The focus is on conflict, toxicity, and change.
1. Include each of the components in your scholarly paper:
I. Overview: To understand the setting of the organization system, provide an overview of your organization or work environment. (You do not need to provide the name.) Briefly summarize your organizations mission, vision, and values statement. Identify one of the biggest sources of ongoing conflict or toxicity in your organizational environment. Using the material provided in the module analyze and identify the type of conflict or toxic behavior. Note you have already completed this section briefly in discussion board 2. It is OK to use the information you already formulated in this section. (Pages 10-11 in Instructor PowerPoint)
II. System-Level Impact: Consider and address the chaos created by your identified issue. List actual and potential stakeholders involved in or influenced by the issue. (Think broadly from a ‘big picture’ perspective. Consider: patients, staff, the organization, community, and perhaps society.) Provide examples or evidence, if available, that the problem is negatively affecting or may negatively affect stakeholders.
III. Evidence-Based Innovation and Change Approach:
1. Search the literature addressing evidence to address and improve the issue/conflict from a leadership perspective. Provide a short synthesis of your scholarly findings from at least two scholarly resources. (That is – present evidence to effectively address what should be done about the conflict/issue and cite the sources of evidence used. Please do not provide an article review.)
2. Use Kotter’s 8-step change model to illustrate how you would use your found evidence to facilitate positive change about the conflict or issue. (That is – take the evidence-based or best practice strategies needed to address the issue and demonstrate your ability to incorporate them using the participatory approach noted within Kotter’s model.)
Search for scholarly resources about the issue and about Kotter’s change framework you could use to address the issue. You will need to present evidence that strategies or interventions to impact the type of conflict or toxicity you addressed have been successful in other environments. You will also want to describe how Kotter’s change theory could be used in your system scenario to enhance a successful intervention.
IV. Focused Learning Reflection: Discuss what you are learning about the purpose of conflict, chaos, and disruptions within a system or environment. Reflect on how you have addressed disruption in the past and how you might address disruption in the future. Address the usefulness of a focused change strategy (e.g. Kotter’s strategy or process) to support a system-level innovation. Discuss your perception of responsibility and accountability in system-level disruptions and change. Lastly, reflect on individual concerns and/or constraints about conflict, toxicity, and leadership accountability/responsibility to support positive professional change.

2. Helpful Hints:
I. Draft an introduction that sets the stage for your paper and a summary/conclusion to complete your paper
II. Review the rubric, again, to ensure you are on the right track.
III. Note grading aspects related to resources used, APA format, and writing style
I. Quality, use, and in-text APA formatting of at least 4-6 professional and scholarly journal articles. (You may use more than 6 scholarly articles if needed!)
II. Professional APA formatting includes an APA formatted title page, brief abstract, conclusion, and reference list (Note: we will not be using the student APA formatting in the graduate program)
III. The content of the paper is complete within the 46-page limitation (excluding title, abstract, and reference pages).

I. Revise and edit your paper to ensure it is ethical and scholarly in nature; triple check to ensure it meets every requirement in the rubric. Ensure your paper has a descriptive
