The company you work for is dealing with highly advanced technology and whilst working with the technology is very exciting they also have to consider how they fit into the wider community.
Your report will investigate this and must detail:
1. What is a patent and why do companies acquire them?
2. Large IT companies often collect large amounts of data (the company you work for included). Outline what “The Privacy Act” is and how it might impact these companies.
3. Technology companies often face various ethical issues with their products. Select an ethical issue which your company, as well as another major IT company (eg. Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon) might face. (For this please do Facebook company Explain what the issue is, how it affects the major IT company you have chosen and also how it may affect your company. (Issues you may want to consider include: privacy, security, inappropriate use, hacking, accuracy of data, validity of data, bias of data etc.)
4. The product your company offers also has certain social issues with respect to equity, access and control. Discuss what these might be and compare them to the same issues that Blue Origin may face with their product.
The report should answer the points above with a view to explaining how technology companies fit into the broader society.
