Write a book review on the Best sheet.Beat sheets will be graded on how effectively they communicate the cause-and-effect progression of your story. A “beat” is not just something that happens in the scriipt, it’s a point of change, a step forward (or back) that the character takes in pursuit of their goal.
Every beat sheet should start with your logline, so we understand the big picture before we read the beats.
Here is a sample beat sheet for the film KNOCK DOWN GINGER, which we watched in class.

LOGLINE: A teenage girl hopes to get in with a local gang of girls in her housing project, but when the gang’s chaotic disruptions lead to a desperate chase, she realizes she might be better off without them.
Sarah, underaged girl, attempts to buy vodka but fails.
Gang of girls is raising hell in a housing project.
In the shop, Sarah lends some change to a stranger so he can make his purchase.
When Sarah returns without vodka, she is rejected by leader of the gang of girls.
The gang of girls drops an egg on a local douchebag and he chases them.
The neighbors are angered by the commotion and join the chase.
Sarah and the leader jump into a dumpster to hide from the pursuers.
One of the neighbors finds them, but recognizes Sarah as the girl who lent him money.
He decides not to reveal their location to the other angry pursuers.
Recognizing that Sarah somehow saved them, the leader of the gang invites Sarah back.
Sarah realizes she’d rather be a nice person than an agitator and says no, she’s busy.
